Het officiële publicatie platform van de richtlijn is de [http://inspire.jrc.ec.europa.eu/index.cfm INSPIRE portal]; hier vind je de meest actuele documenten van INSPRIRE. 

Let erop dat de ‘meest actuele versie’ niet noodzakelijkerwijs betekent dat het ook de definitieve versie is. Zo wordt op moment van schrijven de Implementing Rule voor Data Specifications voorgelegd aan de INSPIRE Committee; de huidige beschikbare versie is dus een ''draft ''(wetsvoorstel).<br>

Opmerkingen bij de huidige Data Specifications:<br> 

*De huidige beschikbare Data Specifications beschrijven alleen de thema’s uit Annex I<br> 
*Guidelines van versie 3 wordt grosso modo als ‘stabiel’ beschouwd. Ze kunnen opgevolgd worden door een hogere versie, maar dit gaat voornamelijk om aanvullingen, verbeteringen of betere voorbeelden. Deze wijzigingen passen binnen de vigerende wetsteksten passen. <br> 
**Laatste versie van de dataspecs 3.0.1 en 3.1 is van mei 2010.<br> 
*Voor metadata kan er een jaarlijkse herziening verwacht worden.
